The hotshot new hockey player, the veteran team captain, and the woman they fall for when she becomes the new team mascot in a fake marriage hockey rom com!
When my ex trades me out for a better model—my boss—I don’t take getting screwed over lying down.
Instead, I get a glow up, not only landing a new job with the hockey team but also scoring the city’s hot new hockey player as my plus one to my ex’s wedding. Then, the sexy team captain starts flirting with me, too.
But one night after a win, I accidentally marry that intense new guy after the captain dares us to say I do. One dare leads to another, and I’m experiencing double the pleasure as I say puck yes to both players sharing me on my wedding night.
In the morning, when hubby and I are on our way to get an annulment, the team owner spots our rings and invites the new it couple to attend her upcoming charity golf tournament.
Looks like I have to fake it as Mrs. Hockey for the hockey season and the wedding season. There’s only one problem.
We’re not just a couple. Both guys want more of me.
And pretty soon I’ve got a bigger problem – I’m falling for my fake husband and my secret boyfriend at the same time.
Puck Yes is a standalone hockey, fake marriage, neighbors-to-lovers, spicy workplace MFM romance with a guaranteed why-choose style HEA! No swords cross. This story is perfect for fans of Lily Gold, Emily Rath and Lauren Blakely’s Double Pucked!
Puck Yes is the second book in Lauren Blakely’s My Hockey Romance series, which is an MFM story where the MMCs are all about the FMC. I’m enjoying this new series from Lauren, where it’s not only a Hockey Romance but where the FMCs find happiness with not one guy but two guys who adore her.
This is the case with Ivy, who finds herself starting over not only after a breakup with an a-hole ex-boyfriend who left her for another woman, who happened to be her boss, but also leaving her job due to her boss becoming engaged to that ex-boyfriend. She’s now starting her own fashion influencer blog/business, but in the meantime, she agrees to work as a mascot on the local hockey team as she’s gaining more followers. She finds herself in a predicament, though, where she has not one but two hockey players who are interested in her, and one of them she ends up marrying on a dare. Now, she’s agreeing to stay married to the hockey player because he’s the new player on the team, and he doesn’t want the owner of his team to think the worst of him, and the Captain of the hockey team wants to pursue her too, but with her new husband. She’s definitely upgraded from the ex-boyfriend who could kick rocks, in my opinion, because he didn’t deserve her one bit.
My thoughts on the second book in the series that can be read as a standalone, but if you are like me, I recommend starting with Double Pucked because those characters make an appearance in this book, especially since Ivy is sister to one of the hockey players in the first book. I liked this book but didn’t love it as much as I did the first. What I loved about this book was how Stefan and Hayes have been friends since college, and Stefan welcomed Hayes on the hockey team after he was traded. Their friendship leads to them liking the same girl and not fighting over her, which I love when the guys don’t fight and communicate their thoughts and feelings. They have the same endgame of winning over Ivy, who deserves some happiness after what her ex-boyfriend did to her.
I loved Ivy and how sunshiney and bubbly she was, even after finding out her ex-boss and ex-boyfriend were getting married. She handled it better than I would have, and I loved how she was doing her own thing, gaining love not only from two guys but from people who follow her when it comes to her fashion tastes (including the hockey team’s owner). I love the connection the characters immediately had together and how the guys were there to help Ivy get over her boyfriend.
I also loved the smexy times between the characters to a point. The rooftop scene was HOT, and Stefan was a master at controlling things, but other than that, there seems to be repetition happening when it comes to romance books lately, especially with certain sex talk in the bedroom, amongst other things.
I did enjoy the fact that this book didn’t have a third-act breakup scene but had an internal conflict that happened with one of the characters, which was dealt with pretty quickly. It was a genuine conflict that involved one of the guys, and I understood why he was worried. The poor guy was in the spotlight for being the new guy.
I loved how everything came together in the end for the three, and I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. Lauren Blakey is one author that I definitely enjoy the HEAs she gives her characters, especially characters like Ivy, who deserved a friggin’ epic HEA with two guys that make her feel wanted and loved.
