“Why is that, sweetheart?” I ask.
“I thought we agreed to keep this between us?”
“You think Everly doesn’t know already?”
Tate leans away, her gaze narrowing on mine. “She doesn’t, not unless you told her.”
I chuckle and shake my head. “Mm-hmm, blame it on me, why don’t ya? Maybe you’re not as good at faking as you think.”

My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
