XOXO, Summer is the first installment in S.L. Scott’s The Season Sisters series, and it’s a perfect summer read. It’s such a sweet story that I had a hard time putting it down. The second I started it, I knew it would brighten my day to read Summer and Daniel’s romance. It also introduces the rest of the sisters, who will get their own books in the series, and yes, each is named after a season, which I found unique and different.
I re-read this book (April 2026) and still loved it as much as the first time. Ash and Janvier’s love story is one of my favorites. It’s an emotional one, so have tissues. I love how Janvier never gave up on Ash and was there for her when she told him the truth of why she was afraid to give him forever. Her backstory is a tearjerker. Their love story is epic, though, and is definitely a must-read.
The Fire Bride is the third book in Gena Showalter and Jill Monroe’s King of Fury series. I’ve enjoyed each one of the books in this series because both Gena and Jill are the Queens of writing Paranormal Romance with strong heroines and heroes. They also excel at writing Fated Mates and Enemies to Lovers storylines, which are two of my favorite tropes to read in romance books.
I’ve always been curious about the Bodice Rippers from the 70s and 80s, and figured it was time to give them a try. I’ve never read one before, not even in my teens. Back then, I was obsessed with horror and fantasy books that were highly inappropriate for me, but my parents weren’t really strict on what I read or even watched, especially since my parents knew how much reading meant to me. It wasn’t until my twenties that I read Romance, and I haven’t looked back.
