I was stolen. Hidden. Trapped in a hell beyond salvation.
Until him. Luca. The man who changed everything with his soothing words and vows of protection.
I shouldn't trust him. What he promises is something I gave up on long ago. And yet here I am, falling under the spell of a reality I crave.
I want him to save me. I need it. But I also learned long ago that the most ruthless men can hide behind pretty words and prettier faces.
From International bestselling author, Eden Summers, comes the start of a thrilling duet in the Hunting Her series.
First off, I recommend reading the Hunting Her series in order, especially since some books are duets with overlapping timelines and storylines. Savior is the fourth installment in Eden Summers’s Hunting Her series and is part of a duet focused on Luca and Penny. Fair warning: if you haven’t read the previous book in the series, then there may be spoilers in my review, so proceed with caution or avoid my review until you read the previous books.
If you read book three, parts of its storyline repeat here, but from Luca and Penny’s perspectives. Penny, who was introduced in Torian, is one of the women Torian and his team rescue from his father, Luther. When Luca meets Penny, he immediately recognizes her and is determined to protect her, even if she’s wary at first.
I enjoyed this storyline, though it was heartbreaking at times to read. What Penny had to endure with Luther and his men was awful. I definitely understood why she struggled to trust others after being with Luther for so long. She had been through a lot and knew that even if Luther was taken out, there were others like him out there.
I liked learning more about the MMC, Luca, previously introduced in the series. He works for Torian and appears tough, but shows a softer side, especially when helping abused women like Penny. He is determined to prove to her that he and Torian are nothing like Luther, and he knows it will take time.
This book didn’t focus much on the romance between Luca and Penny because it focused mainly on the take down of Luther and his operations and getting Penny and the rest of the girls to safety, but I know the romance is coming. It also focused on sharing Penny’s story and what she’s been through, and how she is such a strong, fierce woman, who is a fighter, and I can’t wait to read more about her in the next book. She has healing to do, but she’ll have Luca there to assist her. I’m looking forward to Luca and Penny’s story continuing because Luca is definitely the man to help her along her path to healing.
Eden Summers definitely knows how to write an emotional story with a fierce heroine and a strong, alpha protector. I give this book 4.5 stars and can’t wait to read the next installment of Luca and Penny’s story.
Cliffhanger: Yes.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. If you haven’t read the Hunting Her series and enjoy reading Dark Romance Suspense/Mafia Romance, then you are truly missing out. Each book will have you on the edge of your seat.
What to Expect:
