When I climbed into bed with the gorgeous biker from the bar, I didn’t know he was the VP of the West Coast’s most dangerous motorcycle club.
Or that I was accidentally getting caught up in a war.
Not until one night of bliss led to two pink lines on a pregnancy test.
Now I’m at Hayes Roman’s doorstep, asking him to protect his baby from my family. The same family that is trying to destroy his club.
Hayes is a flirt.He’s reckless.A heartbreaker.
The only commitment he’s ever made is to the patch on his chest.
But when he holds our daughter, I can’t help feeling like he’s ours. And when he touches me, all I want is to be his.
Hayes will do anything to keep us safe. He’ll go to battle if it means protecting us. But Hayes has no problem breaking the rules, and if I’m not careful, he might also end up breaking my heart.
Author's Note: Soul is a dark, surprise baby MC romance with a morally grey hero, heavy subject matter, mature content, and explicit scenes. Content/TWs (which contain spoilers) can be found on author's website. 18+ Standalone with HEA guaranteed
I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to the Twisted Kings MC series by Eva Simmons, with Soul as the last book, but learning about the spin-off makes me less sad. This series has been a favorite since I read the first book, Steel, and Soul is no different. It’s finally the VP’s turn to find his HEA. He meets his match when he meets Emery one night at a casino. They have an ONS, and afterward, he can’t stop thinking about her and is determined to find her again. Even with Ghost’s help, he can’t find the girl who changed his heart. When she shows up at his club one night unannounced, not alone, with a baby girl who looks just like him, Soul’s life is about to change forever. This is especially true when he realizes who she’s related to and why she’s there. Nothing will stop him from being with her and his daughter, not even his club, who don’t trust her at first. First, though, he has to deal with the person she’s running from, especially when he understands why he couldn’t find her before.
I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t believe Soul, known as a ladies’ man and the man Steel relies on to get things done, ends up a family man. He never expected it either, and if you read the series, you know why. He didn’t have a great upbringing because of his father. This dangerous man becomes different in this book, and I loved reading about his gentler side. But he will do anything to protect someone he loves, and he proves it often. I loved the scenes with him and his daughter, Charlie, because they melted my heart, just like they did for Emery.
I really liked Emery’s character and felt for her, especially after learning what she has dealt with since losing her parents. She’s been used and controlled by the family member who took her in after her parents died. When she ends up with Soul, she finds a true family not only with him but with his club, which will do anything to protect her. She seems meek at first, but toward the end, another side of Emery appears, surprising Soul. I loved how she fought back for herself and her daughter because she was fed up and didn’t want to be a victim anymore.
Soul and Emery’s relationship is memorable not only for how they met and how steamy it was but also for how protective they were of each other. Emery brought out Soul’s gentler side, and Soul brought out Emery’s strength. They were truly meant to meet in that casino that night. I’m happy Soul found someone to love and Emery found a family, even if the club didn’t trust her at first.
What I loved most about this book is the closure Emery gets with the person who has been controlling and threatening her. The Twisted Kings MC also finally has closure with the antagonist targeting them for a while. It’s about time that person is handled because the Twisted Kings deserve some peace, at least for a little while, with their loved ones.
The twists and turns in this book were predictable at times but still enjoyable. Overall, another fantastic read in this dark, suspenseful, and steamy Twisted Kings MC series, and I give it 4.5 stars. I look forward to the spin-off series, which will head to a small town. I’m ready for it. Venom finally gets his HEA too, and I can’t wait.
Standalone or Part of Series: Each book is an interconnected standalone in the Twisted Kings MC series. As someone who has read them in order, I highly recommend reading in order.
POV: Dual POV (First Person)
Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. If you are looking for a Motorcycle Club Romance series full of danger and suspense, with MC members falling hard and being very protective of their ladies, then check out the Twisted Kings MC series.
(One other thing is I loved a certain character from the Twisted Roses series appearing in this book. I’ve missed the characters from that series and loved how this person played a role in this book. If you haven’t read the Twisted Roses series, I highly recommend it. It’s one of my favorite series from Eva Simmons because it’s centered in a tattoo parlor, and the MMCs in that series are just as protective of the ladies as the Twisted Kings MMCs are of their ladies. Seriously, go read it now if you haven’t!)

My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
