I stole from the Twisted Kings, and now I’m at the mercy of Jameson Steel.
It’s not like I planned any of this... The same way I didn’t plan on being the only parent to my four-year-old brother.
But one night, everything went sideways, and now Jameson is my only chance at getting out of this mess.
He doesn’t trust me, but he needs me to get back at the man who sent me to his clubhouse. His protection for my cooperation. As long as my brother is safe, it’s a deal I can’t refuse.
But living with the enemy is dangerous. Jameson’s vengeance is prolific. He only cares about revenge, and he’s not interested in the pre-built family I come with.
The Twisted Kings are his life. Nothing comes before his club or the president patch on his chest—especially not us.
Or so I thought…
Eva Simmons can write any subgenre in the Romance Genre, and I’ll read it. But Motorcycle Club Romance may very well be my favorite subgenre from her, and it’s all due to how she captured my attention from the first page to the last page with Steel, the first book in her newest series, Twisted Kings MC. It’s one of those books the second you start reading, you can’t put it down because you need to know how the main characters, Steel and Tempe, are going to find their HEA. After all, they don’t trust each other and there’s a good reason for it on both sides.
Brief Storyline: Steel is Twisted Kings MC President, and he’s never had an inkling of ever settling down with an Old Lady, especially when he’s dealing with Rival Motorcycle Clubs and the fact his former VP was a traitor. Now, he has a young woman named Tempe snooping around his Clubhouse, and when he finds out she’s his traitor’s daughter, he’s on high alert with her. However, once he questions her and realizes she possibly isn’t like her father and she’s in danger, he’ll do anything in his power to keep her protected, even if it means guarding his heart with her too.
My Thoughts: I love a story where both characters don’t trust each other, but the more they spend time together, the more they gain trust. This is also when they start to fall in love with one another. It’s a slow burn between the two characters, but so dang worth it, especially when Steel is not only falling hard for Tempe but also becoming protective and caring to her little brother, whom Tempe is trying to protect. Your heart is going to melt when you read the scenes between Steel and Tempe’s little brother, Austin. I know my heart melted when I read them.
I loved both characters in this book for different reasons. Steel is an intimidating, bada$$ MC President, but he has a soft side when it comes to Tempe and her brother, Austin. He also has a way with words in the bedroom when it comes to the steamy moments, too. He’s definitely going down as book boyfriend (or husband material). Tempe has to be my favorite FMC who knows how to protect herself. She’s a kickbutt heroine who even knew how to handle the Twisted Kings MC, especially when they found her snooping in the club. She learned how to take care of herself, especially when her parents weren’t around much, and she took care of her little brother.
The one who really stole my heart was Tempe’s little brother, Austin. That little boy won me over immediately, especially with how he was handling the situation of him and his sister being in danger. I hope to read more about him in the upcoming books and how he’s doing with the Twisted Kings MC.
I enjoyed everything about this book, and I could go on and on about it, but my review is already too long. If you are looking for an MC Romance that has action-packed scenes and swoon-worthy and heart-tugging moments between the main characters, then Steel needs to be added to your TBR now.
I give this book five stars and can’t wait to read more from this MC series. That jaw-dropping moment at the end involving Ghost—I need his book, like yesterday.
Would I recommend this book? Yes, definitely, especially for readers who enjoy Motorcycle Club Romance stories in which the MC President tries not to fall for the Traitor’s Daughter.
