I didn’t know Jacob Gray was my professor when I fell into his lap on the plane. All it took was a devastatingly gorgeous man twice my age to break all my rules. To teach me how to let go.
How to surrender.How to submit.
But then I learn Jacob isn’t who I think he is. And it turns out us meeting wasn’t an accident.
The sweeter the forbidden fruit, the more venomous the snake.
Jacob wants revenge, and he’s going to use me to get it.
Author's Note: Revere is an extremely dark professor romance with a morally irredeemable MMC, heavy subject matter, mature content, and explicit scenes. Content/TWs (which contain spoilers) can be found on author's website. 18+ only.
Revere is the final installment in Eva Simmons’s Sigma Sin series, bringing the series and characters to a close. Although it’s bittersweet to say goodbye, especially since this is my fourth series I’ve finished from Eva Simmons, I look forward to the new stories Eva Simmons is already working on.
This is Patience’s story, Alex’s sister, who resents Sigma Sin due to what happened to her brother during his trials and her difficult family history. Readers finally learn what happened to her, gaining insight into her perspective on why she doesn’t like Sigma Sin and concern for her friends involved with the group.
When it came to getting to know Jacob, the Professor that Patience ends up in a forbidden relationship with during the summer she’s in LA. He has some secrets that he’s keeping from Patience, and originally, he has plans for her when she comes to LA for his summer class. The issue is that he ends up falling for her and doesn’t really focus on the revenge anymore. He has other plans, instead.
To avoid spoilers, I’ll just share that the book provides answers and a happy series ending, with changes to Sigma Sin. I enjoyed the Age Gap and Forbidden Romance, and the subplot of Jacob’s quest for revenge with help from Declan, Kole, and Alex. I loved that those three played a role in fixing Sigma Sin.
I did feel the ending was rushed a bit, especially when it came to Patience figuring out the truth when it came to someone in her own life who literally made her life difficult. There is also something else that is mainly just a preference of mine lately, and that’s wanting more of a slow burn in my romance stories and not instant attraction right away. As I get older, I need more yearning, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy the story.
Overall, this was a great series finale, and I give it four stars. I look forward to Eva Simmons’s next book/series, whatever she has planned, because whatever she writes, I’m going to read.
POV: First Person (Dual POV)
Standalone Or Part of Series: It’s the last book in the Sigma Sin series and I highly recommend reading these books in order.
Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. If you like Dark Romance with Forbidden Professor-Student relationships, Revere is for you. If you’re drawn to Secret Society and morally grey main characters, try the entire Sigma Sin series.
What to Expect:
✔️Dark Revenge Romance
✔️Forbidden Romance – Professor x Student
✔️Age Gap Romance
✔️Secret Society
