WrathAll I have in life is my brothers and my club. It’s all I ever needed.Until Tara.Seeing her broken and bruised called to a part of me I thought was long dead. She can’t handle my brand of crazy though. So I’ll offer her the only thing I can. My claim, but in name only.
TaraBeing a sweetbutt, I never let myself imagine finding my happy ever after within the walls of the Lotus MC. It just wasn’t done.Until Wrath. His claim was meant to save me, but it only left me feeling isolated. He thinks I can’t handle him, but he’s wrong.Underneath this damaged girl is a woman dying to burst free.If only, I could break down his walls enough to explore it with him.
With danger lurking around every corner, will Wrath and Tara ever be able to overcome their insecurities and find solace within one another?
It’s been a long time since I picked up an MC Romance, and thankfully, I found (Author Duo) Cala Riley’s Lotus MC series. I read Reaper, the first book in the series, last year and enjoyed it, but Wrath may have taken the top spot from Reaper for being a favorite MMC.
Wrath saved Tara from a fellow MC member and now has agreed to keep her under his protection, which leads him to make a decision. He either lets her go back to her old life or makes her his Old Lady. The issue is he doesn’t want to let her go that easily, and he will do anything to protect her. He doesn’t think he can be gentle with her, but he’ll try, especially with what was done to her. A ruthless MC member who is known to indulge in certain desires is willing to sacrifice his tastes to keep Tara. This here made me love Wrath because every club member knew him as being a certain way, but he was trying to make changes with Tara. He may appear hard to others, and he has every right to be, but he has a soft heart for Tara and becomes very over-protective of her.
Tara, the FMC, was one character who I felt for immediately after what she endured. I liked how the authors touched on the mental health challenges she was facing after what was done to her. Every person is different in healing from trauma, and Tara was one of those who healed differently. She found something that helped, which in the long run surprised Wrath and had him taking into consideration what Tara craved and needed that actually aligned with what Wrath could offer her.
Wrath and Tara’s relationship does take a bit to get there, so it’s a slow burn of sorts because Wrath thinks he is doing what is best for Tara and keeping his distance. When Wrath realizes what Tara wants, he takes it into serious consideration, especially when he picks up the books, notices what she’s reading, and takes notes from them. This is when the book becomes spicy, and let’s just say there are certain scenes between the MCs that will have you reaching for a glass of cold water (with lots of ice) to cool down.
There is drama after what happened in the first book that is continued in this book, which the authors explain, so this book could technically be read as a standalone. If you are like me and prefer to read in order, read the first book, Reaper. The Lotus MC is having to deal with another rival MC that is causing issues, so there is going to be some violence in this book. One thing I noticed with Lotus MC is that you don’t mess with their Ladies. I love over-protective alpha males, and Cala Riley writes them well.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series, and I’m glad I found Cala Riley’s books. If you enjoy reading MC romances, this series is for you.
