Set against the atmospheric backdrop of rural Pacific Northwest, New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Zanetti’s thrilling suspense series follows FBI Special Agent Laurel Snow as she strives to navigate her complicated family life when her newly discovered sociopathic half-sister becomes the target of a dangerous killer. The Blacklist meets The Profiler meets Justified in this fast, page-turning thriller that will have readers guessing until the very end!
What do you do when a sociopath loves you? Rising star FBI profiler Laurel Snow is about to find out …
Calling Laurel Snow’s relationship with her newly discovered half-sister challenging is an understatement. Not only does Laurel suspect Abigail is behind the mysterious disappearance of their father, but her erratic behavior also makes life in Laurel’s small hometown interesting, to say the least. Still, when Abigail claims someone is now out to kill her, Laurel’s instinct to protect her sister goes into overdrive. Then things get even more dicey as dead bodies start turning up in the icy waters of the Sauk River and there’s only one connection among them: Abigail . . .
Having Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers bringing in those bodies with his dive team only complicates matters. Huck is as impulsive and fiery as Laurel is coolly analytical, which makes their alliance risky at best. But standing up to such a demonically brilliant killer is going to take all the help Laurel can get. Because Laurel’s attempt to save her troubled sister’s life might cost her own . . .

You Can Hide is the second book in Rebecca Zanetti’s Laurel Snow Thrillers series, and I’m thrilled I discovered this series through my local library because it has quickly become a favorite of mine. Each book will draw you into the story with its amazing cast of characters as you try to uncover the identity of the killer. It also helps when there is a strong heroine, like Laurel Snow, who is dedicated to catching the killer and delivering justice to the victims, adding to the excitement.

Rebecca Zanetti has once again kept me on edge with her latest installment, You Can Hide. This time, Laurel Snow is dealing with a killer who may be targeting her sister, Dr. Abigail Caine. Although Laurel has her suspicions about her sister, she knows she must protect her at all costs since it’s her job as an FBI profiler/agent. As bodies begin to pile up and Laurel dives deeper into the investigation, she discovers a troubling connection: it all leads back to Abigail, the one person she is trying to keep safe.

In my review of the first book, I noted that Laurel’s sister gives me bad vibes. Unfortunately, those negative vibes have only intensified in the second book. After reading this installment, I find myself even more uneasy about her character. However, I hope I’m wrong and that she is actually a decent person who isn’t trying to cause trouble for her sister, Laurel Snow.

I loved that Huck, the Fish and Wildlife Captain, was helping Laurel again. He is the complete opposite of her, but they work well together on cases, even while struggling with their attraction to each other. Laurel and Huck have more of a friends-with-benefits relationship, but I can see their romance developing as they spend more time together. It’s clear that they are very protective of one another, especially in this book. I can’t wait to read more about their romance unfolding in the upcoming books. Yes, I’m rooting for these two to be together. =)

Once again, Rebecca kept me in suspense as I tried to uncover the identity of the killer in this book. I wasn’t sure who it was, but when the reveal happened, I was shocked. I can’t wait to read more in this series. I give this installment five stars and highly recommend this series to readers who enjoy thrillers.

I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
