January 2, 2024 – What are your blogging/reading goals for the new year?
Blogging Goals:
- Engage with other bloggers/bookstagrammers. It’s been a while, and it was mainly due to not having much screen time due to my kids keeping their mama busy and also due to my health. (I only have one kid in the house now since my oldest is off at college.) Hopefully, my social anxiety doesn’t talk me out of it. I suffer from horrible social anxiety even online (not just in person). I’m also hoping I have fewer migraines this year, but unfortunately, I have no control of them, even when I’m on medication to help prevent them.
- New Blog Design. (Something I’m going to do myself for the first time since my web designer retired a few years ago.)
- Host some giveaways again.
- Post more content and not just reviews.
Reading Goals:
- I always participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge, and my goal last year was 125 books, and I ended up reading 177 books. I’m going to keep my challenge at 125 books because I never know how my reading will be for the year. There was one year I only read 36 books, and that was due to my health that year. The only reason why I was able to go over my goal in 2023 was due to Audiobooks.
- I signed up for the 2024 Finishing the Series Challenge hosted by Celebrity Readers. I have several book series I’ve been meaning to finish and catch up on. I’m hoping to tackle at least four series this year.
- In Death Real-A-Long Challenge since I need to catch up on the In Death series by J.D. Robb.
- Romanceopoly Challenge that Under The Covers Book Blog always hosts, which I need to stick to this year. This challenge has me reading a diversity of books.
What are some of your blogging/reading goals this year?

Owner/Reviewer at A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog
I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
