Only one word can describe the man who performs online as HRD4U....FILTHY.He really knows how to work that massive asset on camera.Couple that with the dirty talk he uses to describe his fantasies while he does it....It’s enough to drive me mad while I watch.Because just like my screenname says, INEEDSOMED.Too bad men like HRD4U don’t exist in real life.Apparently, finding a nice guy with a nasty mouth and a mammoth gift between the legs is asking too much.Instead, I just get snooze-inducing lovers and dates with no chemistry.Having my BFF Flynn McAllister right next door helps ease some of the pain of breakup after breakup. But he can’t know what I really want or why my relationships always fail.I just want to be dirty. But now, all my dreams might be coming true....All because of my filthy friend.
Fabulous Filthy Friend is the second book in The Fury Family Series from USA Today Bestselling Author Gwyn McNamee. Grab this steamy best friends to lovers romance about a man with a hidden talent and the woman searching for her happily ever after only to find it next door.
Fabulous Filthy Friend is the second book in Gwyn McNamee’s The Fury Family series. This time, readers will get Rachel’s Fury story, and this one was a fun one to read, especially since it’s a Best Friends to Lovers and He Falls First story.
Rachel Fury moved in next door to Flynn McAllister years ago, and became instant best friends. They hang out constantly together and tell each other everything except the fantasies that Rachel craves in the bedroom. She’s afraid to tell Flynn due to him being one of the good guys and not wanting to face his judgment, so she keeps those fantasies to herself while she watches a guy perform and talk dirty to his fans online. She would love to find someone like the guy on the web who she watches at night, but unfortunately, they don’t exist. Hopefully, one day, one of the guys she goes on dates with will eventually be a dirty talker like the webcam guy, and she’ll have all her fantasies come true.
Flynn McAllister is a stockbroker and financial consultant by day, but at night, he fires up his webcam and gives his fans a show that only he can provide for them. The only reason he started up the webcam show was to get some extra money after the stock market crashed. This is one secret he’s never told his best friend, Rachel, and he wants to keep it that way because he fears her judgment and knows she wouldn’t like what he does for a living anyway due to her getting a kindergarten teacher and such a good girl. Another secret he’s harboring is the fact he’s been madly in love with Rachel since the day she moved in and he’s afraid to tell her. He’ll do anything not to hurt their friendship, so he keeps his feelings to himself, even though it’s hard some days when she’s constantly coming over and showing off to him.
Look, I’m a huge Enemies to Lovers fan, but I’ve always been a sucker for a good Friends to Lovers story, especially if it’s written well. Fabulous Filthy Friend was the perfect spicy Best Friends to Lovers book I needed in my life. It does have the Miscommunication trope that I tend not to like in my romance books, but when it came to Flynn and Rachel’s slow-burn romance story, it didn’t bother me as much. I did get upset a couple of times because I wanted the characters to talk it out. After all, it was obvious they had feelings for one another, but they needed those secrets to stay secret until, eventually, everything was revealed. The anticipation is what had me turning the pages, and I was excited for these two characters to be together finally. It does take some time, and there may be some minor and major issues along the way, but believe me, it’s worth it. They needed to stop being so stubborn with one another.
This book was a lot spicier than the first book, but that’s due to Gwyn giving us Flynn’s webcam performances with his fans and letting us know ahead of time that he’s a dirty talker. The whole time he’s performing, he thinks about one woman who happens to be his best friend. I loved Flynn in his book because he was a sweet guy during the daytime, but at night, he changed completely, something Rachel didn’t get to see in person.
There is drama in this book, and it involves poor Flynn. I felt for him because he was trying to handle it his way without involving the police, but he really should have when it started to escalate. I understood why he didn’t, though, because he didn’t want the risk of his identity getting out on what he did in his own home.
Overall, this is another great read from Gwyn McNamee, and I can’t wait for Jameson’s story next because he’s the mysterious Fury family member. He’s mentioned in this book, but only Bash Fury makes an appearance, and that’s over phone calls with Rachel because Rachel is missing home and her brothers.
Story Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.5
Steam/Spice Rating: 🌶 🌶 🌶.5
Standalone or Part of Series: These books can be read as standalone, but as someone who prefers to read in order, I highly recommend starting with Bash Fury’s book first, Dirty Pucking Player. You don’t want to miss his book.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. I recommend this to fans of Gwyn McNamee’s books and readers who love a spicy Best Friends to Lovers story that has lots of tension and angst.
