moreEvery year on Christmas Day, the Midnight Manor opens its doors for the rich and elite to indulge their fantasies. Only those with an invite get past the gate. And once you do, there’s no leaving until the clock strikes twelve on New Year’s Eve.
Whe...
Imagine receiving an invite to an exclusive party at the Midnight Manor, where you are able to indulge in your fantasies from Christmas Day until New Year’s Eve when the clock strikes midnight. Would you attend, or would you ignore the invitation? In the case of the FMC, Lakeyn, who received an invitation, is confused by the invitation and believes it’s meant for her twin sister, who is always living life more freely than Lakeyn. Lakeyn decides to take the jump, pretending to be her twin sister at the party, and she ends up gaining the attention of the person who throws the party every year; he’s going to test her at every turn and have her explore things she’s never done before with him.
I’ve read almost every book written by Eva Simmons, and this novella will forever be living in my head rent-free like all the others she’s written, especially when Eva writes MMCs like Adam Kingsley. This man is a dominant, dirty-talking, hot-as-sin billionaire who I would gladly let whisk me away in a heartbeat. (Don’t tell the hubs, although Adam may have reminded me of my husband, especially with his obsessive qualities.) He had helped Lake live out her fantasies and more with him, and he was completely obsessed with her.
I loved Lake’s character too because she was out of her element and so nervous with everything the Manor had to offer, but she had Adam there along the way to help guide her even though Adam was trying to battle his feelings for Lake.
If you are looking for a quick, suspenseful, and spicy novella, this one is a must to add to your TBR for the holidays. It will have you craving more, and thankfully, Eva Simmons is going to give us Cillian’s story next, who played an intricate part in Adam and Lake’s story.
If you haven’t read any of Eva Simmons’s books and are looking to get started, read this novella. You’ll then want to read her whole backlist and become an Eva Simmons fan. =)
