Readers of Fifty Shades of Grey are sure to love Desired, USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy’s latest seductive, electrifying novel of Club Sin, where fantasy becomes reality. Kyler Morgan, Master at the legendary Club Sin in Las Vegas, knows how to give women what they want—too well. He hasn’t had a real challenge in a long time. Then Ella Snow enters his life. Beautiful, inhibited, and innocent in the ways of submission and domination, Ella is the new blood he’s been lusting after. Soon, the thrill of training her to embrace his world brings forth desires Kyler cannot control. After ending an abusive relationship, Ella makes a promise to herself to start living life to the fullest. It’s one of the reasons she seeks out Club Sin. Here, Kyler’s every touch is a lesson in liberation, stirring passions that have no bounds. But as she falls under Kyler’s command, Ella discovers that some secrets are so dark they must come to light. Submission alone may not be enough to save her, leaving her Master with only one question: How can he help Ella heal while unlocking the deep pleasures she craves? Desired is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences. Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from other Loveswept titles.
Desired is the third book in Stacey Kennedy’s Club Sin series. I’ve had this book on my TBR since it was released back in 2014. I’ve been meaning to catch up on the series, and finally, I’ve made time for it since I’m back in my BDSM Romance Era.
Brief Storyline: Kyler Morgan is one of the Club Sin Masters at the Las Vegas BDSM club. He takes his duty as Dom to submissives very seriously on giving women they crave the most, but he hasn’t been challenged in a while and ends up meeting Ella Snow at Aidan’s Wedding (who is another CS Master). Aidan has warned Kyler away from Ella because he’s very protective of Ella who happens to be Aidan’s employee. Ella isn’t aware of the BDSM world that both Aidan and Kyler are a part of, but Kyler is up for a challenge and sees something in Ella that has him obsessed with getting to know her, especially within Club Sin’s doors. The issue is Ella is hiding something from Kyler, and she refuses to tell him, even though he suspects there’s something wrong. Ella wants to move on from what happened to her, but what if her past is not ready to let her go and risks everything she’s trying to accomplish with Kyler?
First, this story does have some content that may bother some readers. (Potential Spoiler Warning) Ella was in an abusive relationship before meeting Kyler, and I wanted to make it known for some readers who find this triggering because there is a descriptive scene of what happened to her. With that being said, there is no cheating involved in this book, even if technically, Ella is still married to her a-hole of soon-be ex-husband, who needs to sign the divorce papers already because there is no way she’s taking him back after she got a restraining order and left him to go to Las Vegas to start a new life for herself. I’m friggin’ proud of Ella for taking the step to protect herself, even though she should have revealed the truth to Kyler when he asked if something was going on with her because he already suspected something was wrong. When Kyler isn’t on the scene at Club Sin as a Dom, he’s a police officer, and he sees the signs from Ella that she has been abused.
Kyler may have well become my favorite Club Sin Master, especially with how protective and caring he was toward Ella’s needs as not only his submissive but outside the club, even though Ella didn’t need his protection. I knew I would like his character back when he was first introduced in the series, but this book makes my love for him even stronger.
If there is one thing that Stacey Kennedy goes into detail about in this book, it is how the Dom/Sub relationship works and what is expected from both Dom/Sub. It’s not just about the spice (even though that is a plus to the book because it does heat up between the MCs. Stacey brings the spice love to ultra hot between Kyler and Ella, and I was here for it.), but the dynamics of the relationship are what I focused on when reading Desired.
Ella was new to the world, but Kyler opened her up to the possibilities of it, and she was willing to learn from him, even though she didn’t mean to find a relationship after her last one. She was meant to find Kyler, and I loved that she found happiness again, especially with him.
One particular scene that will forever be rent-free in my head is when Ella decides to defy Kyler, and it involves the other submissives in the club. Ella was a badass for this, and I loved how the other subs (including their Doms) got involved to have this happen for her. This particular scene changed Kyler’s thoughts on how to handle his sub and take in her feelings more. It did cause Ella to have a punishment later, but one that she would enjoy.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series now that I realize I never finished reading it. Bad on me. Stacey Kennedy has always been one of my favorite BDSM romance authors because she not only brings the heat level up a notch in each book but also writes some unforgettable characters with emotional storylines.
