The only thing I hate more than the man intent on destroying my family is how much I want him…
I know two things about Cassius Whitaker. he’s a massive danger to everything the Hawkes have built and I’ve worked so damn hard to protect. I can’t stay out of his bed.
Relentless Hawke is the third book in The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. Grab this angsty enemies to lovers, forbidden billionaire romance about a woman determined to protect her family at all costs and a man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
Relentless Hawke is the third installment in Gwyn McNamee’s Billionaires of New Orleans: The Hawke Family Second Generation series. So far, this book is my favorite in the series, and it’s not just because it features one of my favorite tropes: Enemies to Lovers. It’s also the fact that the characters were lovable and unforgettable, and the storyline was engaging. I had a hard time putting down this book.
Kennedy Hawke is a determined and fierce heroine who is set on proving her capability to take over Hawke Enterprises. She is especially focused on confronting the biggest threat to the Hawkes: Falco Enterprises, including their lawyer, Cassius Whitaker. However, Cass and Falco Enterprises might not be the only challenges looming for the Hawkes, particularly after the incident involving Angie’s Coffee Shop in the previous book.
Cassius knows that he can be difficult and complicates the Hawkes’ lives whenever he faces them in court. However, he has never met Kennedy Hawke, and he is determined to win her over because he needs her to understand that his clients are not responsible for what happened at her sister’s coffee shop. Unfortunately, once he meets her, he finds it hard to stay away and becomes determined not only to earn her trust but also to pursue a relationship with her, even though it may be forbidden.
I loved both Kennedy and Cassius, especially when they were constantly battling with one another both in and out of the bedroom. Their chemistry was instant, combustible, and undeniable. I was rooting for them the whole time despite the fact that Cassius was hiding secrets from Kennedy that could jeopardize everything.
Don’t even get me started on how Gwyn put me through the wringer with what she did to the Hawkes in this book. My heart was racing the entire time for the Hawke family. I thought the antagonists they faced in the previous books were bad, but now they are about to encounter someone even scarier. Seriously, Gwyn, I need the Hawke family to find some peace after everything they’ve endured. They deserve a complete happy-ever-after! Not just Kennedy and Cass in this book.
Relentless Hawke is a fantastic installment filled with suspense, danger, romance, and secrets that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I give it five stars and can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Single/Dual POV: Dual POV.
Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy this type of series, but make sure to read them in order as the storylines continue from one to the next.
