Evy
There it was, all I ever wanted—my Jay back with me.The path was murky yet it led to him anyway,Back to our slow days, with only love in foresight,Our love bloomed once again,But old doubts crept in,Old wounds resurfaced,And old enemies lurked in the shadows.Yet one thing was certain, I wasn’t going anywhere this time and neither was he,It was him and me forever now and there was nothing that could change that. From Us, Forever is Book Three of the Four Foxes series. This is not a standalone and is the last part of a trilogy. It is intended for mature audiences, containing themes of mental health situations and mentions of death that can be triggering for some readers
From Us, Forever is the final installment in Evy and Jay’s romance story, but don’t worry, it’s not the end of the Four Foxes series. I was relieved to read that Evy and Jay would finally achieve their HEA together, considering all they’ve been through, particularly Evy. All she wanted was to be with her high school sweetheart, Jay, without any complications. Unfortunately, the threats are far from over, and now she must navigate the challenges of being in the spotlight while dating a famous rock star.
The book picks up where the previous installment left off, so if you haven’t read the first or second books, you will need to do that. I really enjoyed reading about Evy and Jay’s love story, even though it took me on an emotional roller coaster. Throughout the story, I just wanted these two to be happy because they truly deserved it. They faced some drama and threats, leading to moments where one of them was in danger or even hurt.
Both Jay and Evy are strong characters, particularly Evy, who has endured so much and emerged even stronger. I loved that she refused to tolerate certain things in this book, even when it came to Jay. It was great to see Mikey there for her, revealing that he had always supported her, even with the choices she made in the first book. I appreciated how Jay was determined to make up for lost time and was not willing to give up on their relationship. After his behavior in book two, which put me through the wringer, it was nice to see the kind Jay return.
The only issue I had with reading Jay and Evy’s story was that it jumped around quite a bit in some of the longer chapters. For instance, one moment, Evy would be with Jay, and in the next paragraph, it would suddenly be the next day, shifting to an entirely different scene. This left me feeling confused at times. However, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story; I just had to go back and reread certain parts to ensure I didn’t miss anything.
Overall, I thought it was a great ending to Jay and Evy’s story, and I would give it four stars. I’m really glad I discovered Emberlynn Raine’s books, and I can’t wait to read her upcoming installments in the series, as well as any other books she chooses to write. Right now, I’m especially looking forward to Mikey’s book in the Four Foxes series.
Single/Dual POV: Dual POV.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s the third book in Evy and Jay’s story and their books definitely need to be read in order.
Would I recommend this series? Yes! If you enjoy angsty, emotional rock star romances with characters who start as lovers, become enemies, and ultimately reconcile as lovers again, then you should definitely check out this series by Emberlynn Raine. It’s a roller coaster ride, I tell you!
