four-half-stars

The first in a new erotic romance series, Backstage Pass is a sizzling mix of sex, love, and rock n' roll
It's been months since Brian Sinclair, lead guitarist for the famous rock band, Sinners, composed anything. Unable to write the music that once flowed so naturally, Brian is lost without his musical mojo. But when sexy psychology professor Myrna Evans comes on tour to study groupie mentality, Brian may have found the spark he needs to reignite his musical genius. When lust turns to love, will Brian be able to convince Myrna that what they have is more than just a fling, and that now that he's found his heart's muse, he doesn't want to live without her?

I have no idea why I waited so long to read Backstage Pass by Olivia Cunning because, holy crap, this book was HOT! First off, this book is a rockstar romance, which I’ve always loved reading, and it’s also Spicy AF. I had to fan myself several times reading some of the scenes between the characters. I know I had a hard time putting down this book, and every time I was forced to, I was thinking about the MCs and their story. I regret not reading this book sooner when it was first released because Olivia had hooked right from the first page. Now, I’m obsessed with finishing this series and reading everything that Olivia has written.

I mentioned earlier that this book is Spicy AF, and I meant it. It’s an Erotic Romance, so there are a lot of sexy times. There’s a little bit of plot to it, and it involves the FMC, Myrna, and how she’s not trying to have a romantic relationship, especially after what happened in her last relationship. She just wants to have fun with the lead guitarist Brian Sinclair, but he has other plans because he’s fallen hard for Myrna, especially since she’s become his muse and he’s writing music again.

The drama toward the end of the book, which involves Myrna and her past catching up with her, was definitely quick and rushed, in my opinion. As I said, this book is mainly about the two main characters having fun with one another and Myrna trying everything not to have feelings for Brian.

I loved how Olivia introduced the other band members from The Sinners, and some of them encouraged Myrna and Brian to be together, especially when Brian was upbeat once again and not depressed about what happened to him.

Overall, this book gets 4.5 stars from me, and I can’t wait to dive into the Sed’s book next.

If you are looking for a Spicy Rockstar Romance, this book should be added to your TBR.

About Olivia Cunning

Combining her love for romantic fiction and rock ‘n roll, Olivia Cunning writes erotic romance centered around rock musicians. Raised on hard rock music from the cradle, she attended her first Styx concert at age six and fell instantly in love with live music. She's been known to travel over a thousand miles just to see a favorite band in concert. As a teen, she discovered her second love, romantic fiction -- first, voraciously reading steamy romance novels and then penning her own. Growing up as the daughter of a career soldier, she's lived all over the country and overseas. She recently moved to Galveston, Texas.

I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
