This small town isn’t big enough for my grumpy lumberjack ex-boyfriend and me at Christmas…

Now that I’m home in Mistletoe, Wisconsin for my favorite time of the year…nothing can ruin my holiday spirit. Not the frigid temps or impending blizzard, the bickering and gossip that swirls around our picturesque town, or even breaking my favorite ornament.Nothing…Except Luke Crisp. My grumpy ex-boyfriend seems set on making my stay unbearable.Starting the moment I step foot on his family’s Christmas tree farm. The growly lumberjack who once held my heart now grates on my last nerve. He hates this time of year and everything that comes with it.And he doesn’t seem very happy to see me, either. Those lips that once kissed mine now twist in a permanent scowl. His beautiful green eyes I used to get lost in only match his grinchy attitude. But something simmers just beneath his cool gaze.A heat that still ignites a fire deep inside me.So, when the snowstorm hits and we’re forced to hunker down and ride it out together, it makes for one very grumpy lumberjack Christmas.

If you love spicy holiday romances with growly lumberjacks and feisty heroines, grab this standalone, small-town contemporary romance that gives you all the grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, second chance, angsty, steamy and spicy Christmas vibes you can handle!

If you enjoy watching Hallmark’s Christmas movies during the holidays and have always wanted a spicier version, then you need to read A Very Grumpy Lumberjack Christmas. I enjoyed everything about this book, especially since it included some of my favorite tropes. The best trope, which I can never resist, is the Second Chance romance. Seriously, this trope gets me every time!

Luke and Noel were once in a relationship years ago, but Noel left Luke to pursue her dream job. Luke has never fully recovered from her departure, and every year during Christmas, he earns the reputation of being the Grinch due to his disdain for the holiday.

Now, Noel is back for Christmas, celebrating with her mother, who is also not in the holiday spirit after losing her husband. Noel is determined to lift her mother’s spirits, and she believes that getting a Christmas tree would help. However, this means she will have to confront Luke again, who has always made her visits difficult.

Luke is truly the grumpy lumberjack—or, in this case, the Grinch—of this story. I loved how grumpy he was, even though he was secretly still pining for Noel. It was clear that Luke never got over her, and when they were forced together during a snowstorm, all those feelings resurfaced in full force. Once you get to know him, he definitely qualifies as book boyfriend or husband material. I appreciated how he took charge in certain situations, especially when it came to ensuring Noel’s safety, as she tended to act recklessly.

I loved Noel and how she embraced the spirit of Christmas. She knew just how to handle the grumpy Luke, and her character not only brought him back into the Christmas spirit but inspired me as well. Noel was such a fun character to read about, and I appreciated her dedication not only to Christmas but also to her job and her family. I understood why she left Luke in the first place, but I’m glad she returned because she loved the small town of Mistletoe and what it had to offer. It was her home, always and forever, especially with Luke there.

Luke and Noel’s chemistry was absolutely explosive when they were together. It all started with them being snowed in, and if you enjoy that trope, you’ll love the scenes of Luke and Noel in the cabin together. Very spicy!

I could go on and on about this book, but my review would end up being much longer than it already is. A Very Grumpy Lumberjack Christmas is both spicy and filled with emotional moments, making it the perfect read for the holidays. Just remember that Luke is all Noel’s, and she’s a lucky gal to have him.

I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
