four-stars

Twelve men. A virgin queen. One arranged marriage.
Three teaspoons.Two men.One choice.
That’s what awaits me in the House of Cancer. Vance Morgan’s gift is unexpected—an evening spent with any member of the Brotherhood I choose.
My heart gives me two options. My body wants the lion. But my mind wants the truth.
And those three teaspoons I mentioned? They contain an elixir that lowers inhibitions. With my judgement compromised, mistakes are bound to be made.
I hope one of them isn’t trusting the wrong man.

Cancer is the fourth installment in Gemma James The Zodiac Queen. This time Novalee is with Dr. Vance Morgan. He’s one character I’ve been intrigued to find out more about since the moment he was introduced. He’s not like the other men. First off, he doesn’t do what previous men have done with Novalee. She was in shock when she was with him. I’m hoping he could be Novalee’s ally because she can’t trust a lot of people. There are so many questions after this book, especially finding out more about Sebastian. I hope that Gemma James has Novalee end up with Sebastian, but several other houses that Novalee has to get through until the big auction.

Steaminess: Some Steam.

Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. If you are a fan of the Dark Romance genre. This series involves a lot of twists and turns and questions needing to be answered. Gemma James will keep readers on edge on who Novalee ends up within the series, and the most important thing is who she can trust.

This book only gets 4-stars, but I still enjoyed it. I’m anxiously waiting for the next book because it is with Sebastian (Leo).

I highly recommend reading these books in order; otherwise, you will be confused reading out of order. You’ll miss out on Novalee’s encounters with Aries, Taurus, and Gemini houses. Believe me; you don’t want to miss out on those.

About Gemma James

Gemma James is a USA Today and Amazon bestselling author of a blend of genres, from new adult suspense to dark erotic romance. She loves to explore the darker side of human nature in her fiction, and she’s morbidly curious about anything dark and edgy, from deviant sex to serial killers. Readers have described her stories as being “not for the faint of heart.”

She warns you to heed their words! Her playground isn’t full of rainbows and kittens, though she likes both. She lives in Oregon with her husband and their four children—three rambunctious UFC/wrestling-loving boys and one girl who steals everyone’s attention.

I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
