Evy & Jay #2
They said sometimes even the strongest foundations crumbled and so did our love.It only took a touch, a glance, a kiss for us to fall into the forever kind of love.
And without a warning, the storm raged and the devil tore us apart.
Six years later, I was breathing but not living. Because my love was ripped away from me.
I spent every second of my soulless life dreaming about those blue eyes that haunted my sleepless nights.
But yet again without a warning, the storm called.
This time I was on my knees by his feet, staring into those blues that mirrored resentment—for me.
Back in his orbit, my heart yearned and my body burned for him.
Just one lick of the flame and it all came crashing back again.
Doubts, fears, and distrust mingled with passion, lust, and craving.
And then one night changed everything.
But he didn’t know the truth.
The truth that Jayden Jameson still owned my heart.
But did his heart own mine?
Please note: If you haven’t yet read From Me to You, I suggest not reading my review yet to prevent any potential spoilers.
(The first three books in the Four Foxes series center around Evy and Jay’s story and should be read in order.)
I thought From Me To You really put me through the wringer when I read it, especially with that crazy cliffhanger. However, Emberlynn Raine’s second book, From You To Me, distressed me even more. Any author who makes me want to hurl my Kindle due to the actions of the characters is doing something right because I’m really into the story. (Rest assured, my Kindle is safe, but my husband had to listen to my complaints about a certain MMC treating the FMC terribly while I was reading this book. Poor guy, but he’s used to it.)
My thoughts: I was uncertain about how Emberlynn Raine would transform Evy and Jay’s love story after what happened in the first book, especially since they were now enemies. However, I trusted her process. This installment really put me through an emotional wringer. It wasn’t easy to read Evy’s point of view after what she endured and see how Jay was treating her in this book compared to the first, especially considering she still had feelings for him. If there is one thing I noticed in From You To Me, it is that Evy has grown a lot since the first book. I was proud of her character, even if intially I thought she made the wrong call in book one.
I really appreciated that Emberlynn included Jay’s point of view in this book because I needed insight into his feelings and perspective on everything that was happening. He had definitely grown and changed since the first book. He wasn’t the same Jay as in the first book, and the way he treated Evy was horrible, but I knew eventually, the truth would come out, and he would have to win her back. It takes a bit because Evy won’t make it easy for him. Jay is one MMC; you’re going to love and hate and love again. (At least, that is what happened to me while reading the first two books in the series.)
The best part of this book was when the person who truly caused the break up of Jay and Evy was dealt with in a way that put them on the spot. (Yes, I’m being vague because I don’t want to risk spoiling the story.) I’m glad Evy and Jay and the rest of the Four Foxes are back together and can’t wait to reat the next book, which is the last in Evy and Jay’s story. Yes, this book ends on a cliffhanger again, so fair warning. The next book should give us incite on who actually targeted Evy at the end of the first book and I’m anxious to find out who did it.
Single/Dual POV: Dual POV
Cliffhanger: Yes.
