S. Massery is launching a new interconnected standalone series titled Hockey Titans, which captures the same vibes as her previous series, Hockey Gods. If you read the Hockey Gods, you’ll recognize Camden Church in Into Ruin. Here was one reader eager to read his story, but fair warning: Into Ruin is a prequel novella, which means S. Massery is going to give us a brief glimpse into this new series and leave us with a doozy of a cliffhanger.
If you’re not a fan of bully romances, then this prequel and series might not be to your liking. However, if you enjoy bully romances as I do, then this prequel and series will be perfect for you, especially if you loved S. Massery’s Hockey Gods series; just check the TW before reading.
This prequel sets up the storyline of Harper Shay and Camden Church and how they initially meet. Camden Church is determined to ruin Harper, even though he’s been warned to stay away from her, but that doesn’t matter to him until he realizes he may not be the only one taunting her. Harper has a past that she’s been trying to avoid, but unfortunately, her past is going to creep up on her again.
This novella was okay, and I am glad that S. Massery gave us a glimpse into this new dark hockey world, especially since I’ve been missing the Hockey Gods. However, it did feel rushed a bit and left me wanting more after finishing it, particularly with that shocking cliffhanger. Camden Church certainly lives up to the Hockey Gods reputation, and I couldn’t help but despise him for the way he treated Harper in this novella.
When it came to Harper, I felt for her character because she’s not only dealing with Camden but a stalker who won’t leave her alone. As for the ending of this novella, I’m curious where the story will go next because it definitely was unexpected. Camden definitely can’t be done with Harper, and Harper needs to deal with what happened. Unfortunately, that means she’ll have to deal with Camden again and the possibility of her brother finding out what happened.
I give this novella 3.5-stars, and I definitely plan on reading the full-length novel of Camden and Harper because I need to know what happens next and how these two are going to end up finding that HEA.

Would I recommend this novella? Yes. If you enjoyed S. Massery’s Hockey Gods, you’ll enjoy this prequel to her new series, Hockey Titans, which is another Dark Hockey Bully Romance.
