Apple MacKayla Lane lies naked on the cold stone floor of a church, at the mercy of the erotic Fae master she once swore to kill. Far from home, unable to control her sexual hungers, MacKayla is now fully under the Lord Master’s spell.…In New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s stunning new novel, the walls between human and Fae worlds have come crashing down. And as Mac fights for survival on Dublin’s battle-scarred streets, she will embark on the darkest—and most erotically charged—adventure of her life.
He has stolen her past, but MacKayla will never allow her sister’s murderer to take her future. Yet even the uniquely gifted sidhe-seer is no match for the Lord Master, who has unleashed an insatiable sexual craving that consumes Mac’s every thought—and thrusts her into the seductive realm of two very dangerous men, both of whom she desires but dares not trust.
As the enigmatic Jericho Barrons and the sensual Fae prince V’lane vie for her body and soul, as cryptic entries from her sister’s diary mysteriously appear and the power of the Dark Book weaves its annihilating path through the city, Mac’s greatest enemy delivers a final challenge.…
It’s an invitation Mac cannot refuse, one that sends her racing home to Georgia, where an even darker threat awaits. With her parents missing and the lives of her loved ones under siege, Mac is about to come face-to-face with a soul-shattering truth—about herself and her sister, about Jericho Barrons…and about the world she thought she knew.
My Review
(Originally Reviewed on Mrs. Papillion aka “The Book Worm”)
First and foremost let me say, what I a cliffhanger. Geez, Karen Marie Moning you know how to make a woman pull out her hair when it comes to a book, and this book did just that. My thoughts on the beginning of the book, yummy, sexy, Mackayla is one lucky woman. My thoughts on the middle of the book, Wow, how in the heck did Mackayla have powers like that now. My thoughts on the ending of the book…un-friggin’-believable. Really? Now I have to wait to read the next book because my line of books I’m currently reading are taking precedence, especially since their ARC’s. EEEEKKKK!!! I could scream over “Dreamfever.”
Another thing that had me upset, on the edge of my seat was what the heck is the Lord Master after. That evil villain needs to get his story straight. He is pissing me off. Then to find out something else about him at the end of the book about Mackayla. I could kick his ass for Mackayla. How dare him?
Barrons the subject that I’ve been wondering since the first book. Karen will you ever reveal what Barrons is. I did like the scenes with Mackayla and him. It’s about friggin’ time. That man has stolen my heart even though I still don’t know if he’s good or evil. Karen knows how to write her Men.
Mackayla…her character has gotten stronger in this book, and I was so happy about it. She is out for revenge now on what was done to her in this book. I’m ROOTING for you MAC!! Don’t you dare give up!!
I’m looking forward to the next book not only because of the cliffhanger from this book….but I want to know what happens with all the characters.
Thank you, Karen, for writing this series. You take the fairy world to a whole different level, and I love it!!!
I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
