He’s prince charming. Just not hers.
I have a secret.I stole a heart, or rather a marriage contract. It wasn’t mine to own, to look at or to even consider. But it was there for the taking so I took it.Huge mistake.Ronan Astor is a nobility in this world.Arrogant player.Heartless bastard.Vicious prince. Now, he’s out to destroy me. What he doesn’t know is that I’m out to destroy him too.My name is Teal Van Doren, and I’m where princes go to die.
Vicious Prince is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive.
I fell down the rabbit hole of Rina Kent’s books last year, and I’m more determined than ever to read her entire backlist and eventually catch up with her new releases. Right now, I’m working my way through the Royal Elite series, which I’m almost finished with. I’ve really enjoyed this Bully Romance series, and it’s bittersweet to be nearing the end of the books. Vicious Prince is the fifth installment in the Royal Elite series and is technically an interconnected standalone, but trust me: you’ll want to read these books in order. You’ll understand the world and its characters better.
This time, it’s Ronan and Teal’s book, and I loved these two damaged souls who definitely were meant to be together. These two had a lot in common, and they didn’t even realize it. When Teal agrees to an arranged marriage with Ronan, Ronan tries everything to have her back out of it because he’ll never be tied down with one woman. However, once Ronan gets to know Teal, he realizes that no one else matters but Teal, especially when he knows she’s harboring secrets that he’s determined to find out. Teal, though, has a reason for her madness of marrying Ronan, and it all boils down to revenge for what happened to her and her brother years ago when they were younger.
Rina Kent kept me on my toes with Vicious Prince through the back-and-forth dynamic of Teal and Ronan’s relationship. These two knew exactly how to push each other’s buttons, and I loved how Teal handled Ronan, who initially came off as a player. Everything changes when they finally get together, and their chemistry becomes undeniably steamy.
I appreciated how Rina built suspense around Teal’s true motives for wanting to marry Ronan. My heart went out to her when I discovered what had happened to her, and I understood her desire for revenge. Similarly, Ronan had his own painful past that he had been keeping secret, but he eventually opened up to Teal. This moment deepens their connection, revealing how much they actually have in common.
I really loved Ronan and Teal as a couple; they felt perfect for one another. In fact, they might just be one of my favorite pairs in the series.
My only minor complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed. Other than that, it was another enjoyable installment in the series. I give it four stars and look forward to reading Cole’s book next, although I really don’t want this series to come to an end.
Single/Dual POV: Dual POV.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s an interconnected standalone in the Royal Elite Series, but best read in order.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. I recommend this book to readers who love reading bully romances. Check the TW before reading this book/series.
Some are born for peopling; I was born for anything that doesn’t include that.
The moment she gasps, I crush my lips to hers. She tastes like… madness, the type you can never get away from or with. It’s the type that gets under your skin, and soon enough, you don’t know whether you’re losing your sanity or your life.
They say you should find what you love and keep it close. The same can be said about what you hate.
“Here’s the thing, belle.” My voice drops. “Since you came into my life, I don’t need people anymore. I just need you.”
