They call her the Ice Queen.Winter De Laurie. Cold by name and by nature. She’s always been a spoiled little brat, daddy’s little princess, while I’m the guy from the wrong side of the tracks. She’s always made it clear that I’m beneath her.It was hate from first sight.
But when she needs help, she can’t turn to anyone from her cushy, cashmere life. She needs a man who isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. She comes to me.I’ll help, for a price.I’ve started to think that while I might hate the ice queen, I wouldn’t mind dirtying up her innocent princess persona.Even royals can fall, and I plan to ruin this one completely.
Meet the Ice Gods, the Hockey players who never play by the rules and own Hade Harbor and everyone in it. Dark Delights is a standalone bully romance featuring a possessive hockey playing Ice God, and the smart, mouthy object of his obsession.
Twisted Deeds is the third installment in Mila Kane’s Hellions of Hade Harbor series, and it put me through the wringer—but in a good way. I thought the previous books were dark, twisted, and steamy; no, this one tops them all. My emotions were everywhere while reading Winter and Asher’s book, and I was here for it.
I already knew going into this book that Winter and Asher were enemies since I read the previous books in the series, and I’ve always enjoyed reading an Enemies to Lovers storyline in Romance books. It has the Fake Dating trope, too, so I found that interesting and couldn’t wait to dive into it, especially when both characters don’t like one another. Yes, this is also a bully romance, so it’s not for the faint of heart. The characters are going to do things to one another that are downright mean but for different reasons. I loved how both were dishing out stuff with one another and how it became a game that they both wanted to win.
Winter and Asher may have been complete opposites and didn’t like each other at first, but both were taking down their walls for one another, especially Winter. Winter is known as the Ice Queen to Asher, but when Asher starts getting to know her, he realizes she’s not as icy as she appears. I loved watching her character develop when she was around Asher and how they both learned about love with one another.
Asher is the character in the story who protects everyone else, especially his mom and twin sister, but when it comes to Winter, she starts showing how he should be protected, too, especially when someone tries to threaten him, and Winter won’t have that on her conscious. Asher’s character developed from being a bully to Winter due to what she did at the beginning of the book, into someone who fell hard and became possessive of Winter after he brought down her icy walls. I loved reading how he was falling for her, even though she was stubborn at times, but it’s all due to how protective she became of him.
I thought the last two books had horrible antagonists; no, this book definitely brought out one who tops the others, and it has everything to do with Winter. Winter never thought her family had deep, dark secrets until someone tells her, he’s always had dibs on her and doesn’t like her having a boyfriend, even if he’s a fake one.
This book gets five stars from me, and it definitely helped me from going into a reading slump. I need more books from Mila Kane, especially in this series. I’m obsessed with the characters she writes, the twisty turns in her storylines, and how dark and gritty they get. I’m obsessed, just like Asher is obsessed with Winter. I can’t wait to dive into Mile Kane’s whole backlist.
If you enjoy Dark Bully Hockey Romances, then this book (heck, this series) is one you need to read immediately.
