If Bronwyn plays the kraken king’s consort, acting as his spy, Sebastian will grant her heart’s desire. But the longer the deception continues, the more dangerous the game becomes. Because the kraken king who never believed in love…
May be falling for the woman destined to set his world on fire.

The Kraken Bride is the fourth book in Gena Showalter and Jill Monroe’s Kings of Fury series. If you read the last book, you already know Princess Bronwyn Drachenveil from the dragon court. In The Kraken Bride, she’s sent as an ambassador to Kraken territory, which is no easy job. She has to work with the Kraken King, Sebastian Morrissey, who fiercely protects his people and faces a threat from an ancient primordial. Bronwyn knows Sebastian is her firebrand, but he doesn’t believe in love, partly because of what happened to his parents and other reasons. Sebastian makes a deal with Bronwyn: pretend to be his consort and act as his spy, and in return, he’ll give her what she wants most. Bronwyn agrees, determined to show him that they are firebrands. It’s a tough journey, but she’s ready for it.

I really enjoyed this book in the Kings of Fury series. Bronwyn is a strong and determined heroine, and Sebastian is a protective hero who will do anything for his people. I appreciated how honest he was with her and how he tried to prepare her for what was coming, especially when it came to his feelings. He might not be everyone’s favorite at first, but once you learn his backstory, his actions make more sense.

I loved the secondary characters in this book, too, who played a role in not only the primordial threat, but the relationship of Sebastian and Bronwyn.

Both MCs stood out in this book and turned out to be a great match, even though I wasn’t sure at first. I trusted Gena and Jill to make it work. I’ve never read about a dragon shifter and a kraken pairing before, and it was a fun twist. What I love about this series is how each shifter finds their firebrand and fights for their connection. That’s exactly what happens with Sebastian and Bronwyn. They’re different, and sometimes one tries to push the other away, but the other refuses to give up. Bronwyn was the one who was not willing to give up, especially toward the end and what she did for Sebastian. She proved how much she cared for him and his people.

Overall, I thought this was another fantastic read, and I’m giving it 4.5 stars. I’m excited to read even more of this series from Gena and Jill. These two authors sure know how to write a story that is engaging and memorable characters that are easy to root for.

POV: Single POV (First Person)

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely. If you like reading Paranormal Romance with closed-door romance and just kissing, and you’re interested in a dragon and a kraken falling in love, you should add The Kraken Bride to your TBR. I recommend every book in this series. =)
