*A Dark High School Bully Romance*
As a kid, she crushed my dreams to dust.
She tore both of our families apart with one confession, ending any chance of happiness for either of us and setting off a ripple effect of chaos.
Now she’s back as the new girl in school, and she doesn’t suspect the war that’s coming. She doesn’t realize the anger I’ve been harboring.
I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to ruin her life, and it’s finally here.
Because even traitors sleep—and I’m going to make sure she only dreams of me.
Then I’m going to destroy her.
This is a dark high school bully romance with mature content and themes. It contains dubious situations that some readers may find offensive. If you're looking for a white knight hero, this book is not for you. Wicked Dreams is book one of a duet and cannot be read as a standalone.
I never had the chance to read Wicked Dreams when it was first published. However, when S. Massery announced that she was re-releasing it, I knew I had to make time to read it. I loved S. Massery’s Hockey God series and knew I was going to enjoy Wicked Dreams, too, because it is a Bully Romance. If you aren’t a fan of Bully Romances, then this book/trilogy might not be for you, especially since it’s a High School Bully Romance with lots of teen drama.
I swear, S. Massery can write a morally grey MMC that you hate to love, but dang it, I just know he’ll eventually redeem himself, eventually (hopefully). Caleb Asher is the King of the campus with his best friends/hockey teammates, and he lets everyone know it, especially when his long-lost childhood friend, Margo Wolfe, returns to town. He has never forgiven her for what she did to both of their families, and he’s going to make her life difficult and make her wish she never returned. Margo doesn’t know why Caleb doesn’t like her and why he wants to torment her, especially when she can’t remember what she did wrong. All she knows is the best friend she used to have is out to get her and he’ll do anything, even play games with her heart.
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially when it comes to figuring out why everyone is targeting Margo and why Caleb won’t tell her the truth. It’s frustrating, but dang, if it isn’t good. I’m just glad that Margo did have some people there for her when everyone was giving her grief. She had her new friend, Riley, and her new foster parents, even though she kept them out of the loop with the bullying.
After finishing this book, all I know is that I have more questions than answers, and I need those answers. I need to know if Margo and Caleb will have an HEA, especially after that crazy cliffhanger.
I give this book four stars and look forward to the second book, which continues Caleb and Margo’s story. Here’s hoping Margo gets answers, and here’s hoping Caleb doesn’t hurt her any more than he already has.
If you enjoy reading High School Bully Romances, this book should be added to your TBR list.
Cliffhanger: Yes.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s the first book in a trilogy for Caleb and Margo’s story. It would be best if you read them in order.
