She can't remember. He can't forget.
An Enemies to Lovers, Rock Star, Second Chance, Standalone Romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, S.L. Scott.
Flat on my back is not how I imagined meeting my new boss and hot-as-sin rock star. But here I am . . .
If I didn’t already have amnesia, I’d be wishing for it now.
In my defense, Laird Faris was only wearing a shameless smirk and a towel wrapped around his chiseled abs when we met.
Brooding.Devastatingly handsome.Utterly intolerable.
Naturally, I’m instantly attracted to him.
It’s not only his broad shoulders and gorgeous face that wreck my equilibrium, but also a distinct tattoo on his chest that matches one on my hip.
Our chemistry is off the charts.Searing kisses make his grumpiness bearable.Every touch we share is full of fire and flashes of memories, making me wonder if our connection isn’t destiny after all.
But do the secrets he hides behind his icy blue eyes have something to do with the weekend I can’t remember and the past he can’t forget?
Once I read the synopsis of Never Have I Ever and realized it was a Rockstar Romance, I knew I had to read it since this trope is one of my favorites. Never Have I Ever is also the first book I’ve read by S.L. Scott, and it won’t be my last. I’ve already added several other books from S.L. Scott’s backlist to my TBR now.
S.L. Scott had me hooked from the beginning with Laird and Poppy’s love story. A One Night Stand where both characters fall hard for one another, but before they can go the extra step, the universe throws them a curveball. Fast forward two years, and they are meeting again, but unfortunately, one of them doesn’t remember the other.
I felt for the FMC, Poppy, who was trying to find her way, but she had her mother harping her to cater her wedding, which Poppy only did with the kindness of her heart. I was not too fond of Poppy’s mother, and you’ll understand why when you read the book. I love how Poppy ends up meeting Laird again and how they react to one another because Poppy doesn’t remember him, but Laird remembers her. Laird is confused and thinks he was played, but then he finds out the truth about what happened to Poppy, and he’s all in to have a second chance with her.
This is a rockstar romance, and I’ve read many of them in the last 10+ years, which means Laird is the typical player until he meets the one. No, there is no cheating, but there is OW drama mentioned that is another curveball for the MCs. I loved the ending. Laird proved how much he loved Poppy, which made up for him keeping things from her.
This was an emotional second chance between two characters who were destined to be together, and I was here for it. I give it four stars and can’t wait to read more books from S.L. Scott.
