Two hearts. One snowstorm. A second chance at love.
Penelope Swirling snow may have stranded me at this tiny airport in the middle of nowhere on Christmas Eve, but it has nothing on the storm raging inside me when he walks into the terminal.
Artemis Warren.
My first love and the man who shattered my world.
I thought I locked my feelings for him safely away in the past, but one look is all it takes for me to drown in his icy blue eyes again.
So much time has passed.
I’m no longer that naïve teenager standing on a beach, wishing the boy would choose me.
Now, I’m hiding a secret that could unravel both our lives.
Artemis The emergency landing in Nowheresville is more than an inconvenience.
It’s a disaster.
The annual family holiday party in NYC was my chance to make the statement I’ve been dreaming of for so long.
Now, all my best laid plans will have to wait until I can get out of here and back to civilization.
Nothing can salvage this day.
Yet seeing Penelope Barnes again turns this bad situation into the opportunity of a lifetime.
Reuniting with the only woman I’ve ever loved would be the ultimate Christmas gift.
But how can I heal the old wounds and or fit into the new life she created?
When temperatures drop and snowflakes fly, can love find a way to weather the storm for the ultimate Christmas miracle?
I wanted one more Holiday Romance before 2025 ended, and Holiday Terminal by Gwyn McNamee was already on my Kindle. This will be the 16th book I read from Gwyn McNamee in 2025, and I can’t wait to read more of her books in 2026.
This was the perfect read to finish 2025 and the holiday season. First off, I’m going to admit right away that there is one trope that was in this book that I usually don’t like reading, but I trusted Gwyn McNamee and how she wrote it in this book. In the case of the FMC, Penelope is trying to keep this secret hidden from the MMC, Artemis, because she fears what will happen if he finds out the truth. I could understand to a point why she kept it due to how his family is, but he had a right to know. With that being said, I like how Gwyn McNamee had the past moments between the characters get told and what happened to them, making Penelope’s dilemma more believable. It also revealed the truth about what Artemis would have done back then for Penelope, showing his commitment despite not knowing the secret.
Yes, this is a Second Chance Romance, and I absolutely love reading this trope in romance books. Two characters, like Penelope and Artemis, who get a second chance at love due to them being forced back together due to the inclement weather has both their planes grounded during Christmas, definitely a destiny waiting to happen. Penelope may have been bothered by being back with Artemis, but as I stated, it was destiny for these two to work through what happened, so they finally reveal how much they meant to one another. It took Penelope’s mother to step in at times, and I loved her for it.
This was a feel-good, holiday romance that definitely felt like a steamy version of a Hallmark movie. I need Hollywood to get with the times and look for books like Gwyn McNamee that should be made into movies, because these are the ones that need to be made. I may have an issue with Penelope keeping a secret from Artemis, but in the end, she won me over. When it came to Artemis, he wasn’t like his father and grandfather, even if Penelope thought he was. He was pushing back, and I loved what he ended up doing at the end of this book, so he could have a happily ever after with the family he always wanted.
Overall, this book gets four stars from me, and I’m so glad I picked up this book during the holidays. I can’t wait to read the next two books in the Warren Family Holidays, so I can meet the other Warren siblings who need their HEAs, too.
POV: First Person (Dual POV)
Would I recommend this book? Yes. If you are looking for a holiday romance that involves a second-chance romance between two people who are forced back together during Christmas to finally reveal the truth and love for one another, then check out Holiday Terminal.
