Since the moment of her defection from the PsyNet and into the SnowDancer wolf pack, Sienna Lauren has had one weakness. Hawke. Alpha and dangerous, he compels her to madness.
Hawke is used to walking alone, having lost the woman who would’ve been his mate long ago. But Sienna fascinates the primal heart of him, even as he tells himself she is far too young to handle the wild fury of the wolf.
Then Sienna changes the rules and suddenly, there is no more distance, only the most intimate of battles between two people who were never meant to meet. Yet as they strip away each other’s secrets in a storm of raw emotion, they must also ready themselves for a far more vicious fight…
A deadly enemy is out to destroy SnowDancer, striking at everything they hold dear, but it is Sienna’s darkest secret that may yet savage the pack that is her home…and the alpha who is its heartbeat…
Kiss of Snow is the tenth installment in Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series. I’m finally catching up on this series in 2025, and it’s about time I read Hawke’s story. This MMC has intrigued me since book one, and I was excited to dive into his book, especially knowing that his mate would be Sienna. I anticipated that Sienna wouldn’t make things easy for Hawke; there were moments when she would stir jealousy in him and make him very possessive. I was ready for every bit of their dynamic.
Hawke is the Alpha of the SnowDancer wolf pack, and he exudes strength and leadership wherever he goes. I’ve loved his grumpy, alpha-male character since the first book, especially when he attempted to intervene between Lucas and Sascha. He’s not an Alpha to be trifled with, and everyone will learn that in this book, including Sienna. I appreciated how this hero, who had been doing everything he could to avoid being with Sienna, ultimately ended up with her when he finally realized his true feelings for her. It took quite a while to reach that point, but it was worth it, especially as Sienna continually tempted him.
Sienna is an incredible kickbutt heroine, and I truly enjoyed getting to know her more in this book. If you’ve read this series, you know that she has faced many challenges and is classified as an X-Psy. This has raised concerns among several people about her powers, as they are unsure of the consequences if her abilities were to spiral out of control. She’s definitely not a Psy to take lightly, and I felt a sense of fear for her in this story and the obstacles she had to confront. Fortunately, she navigated through it all with the support of her family and Hawke.
When it came to the romance between Hawke and Sienna, it takes a bit like I mentioned earlier. Hawke initially struggles with his attraction to Sienna because he is still mourning the potential mate he lost when he was younger. However, he eventually comes to terms with his feelings for her, and I really appreciate how their relationship evolves throughout the book. Their journey is not easy, and they face numerous challenges along the way, but it’s truly rewarding to witness their happiness together in the end. It was definitely an emotional one.
This book is filled with action-packed scenes, as the Psy are determined to eliminate the threats of the packs to what they want for themselves. However, the Alpha leaders, Hawke and Lucas, are committed to stopping them. They will protect their packs at any cost, even if it potentially puts them at risk.
I loved that this book provided updates on other couples from the previous installments in the series. It truly features a heartfelt, happy ending for Sascha and Lucas. I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t reached this point in the series yet.
Overall, this is another fantastic and unforgettable addition to the Psy-Changeling series, deserving of five stars. The world-building is phenomenal, and the characters will grab your heart and never let go; this is why I love Nalini’s books.
I’m moving on to the next book in the series because I need to know what happens next.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Psy-Changeling series and I highly recommend reading these books in order.
