The world thought I belonged to another man...they were wrong.

He was the mysterious dark knight always swooping in to save me when I needed it most.I was the troubled girl with scars and a bleeding heart.
He was the gifted guitarist destined for big things.I was the small-town girl battling her demons.
He was my earth....always keeping me grounded. And I was his sky...always just out of his reach.
Our love was everything I wished for.Until I destroyed it.
I never thought I'd see Memphis Payne again after I broke his heart, but the stars had other plans.Because here he is...needing me to clean up his mess this time.

I’ve really missed A. Jade/Ashley Jade, and I’m so happy she released The Consequence and is writing againWhenever I pick up one of her books, I know I won’t be able to put it down until I finish, and that’s exactly what happened with this one. The wait was totally worth it. The emotional rollercoaster in this book, just like the first, made me want to throw my Kindle at the wall, but I managed not to! When a story and its characters make me feel so much, I know the author is an auto-buy for me.

I don’t mind the heartache in A. Jade’s books. I do have some problems with one character’s choices, but that’s okay. I hope they get it together in the last book, because they really need to make things right with the person they hurt. It’s not going to be easy either.

Just a heads up: this book isn’t for the faint of heart. It reminded me why I love Rockstar Romance and stories about star-crossed lovers. Skylar and Memphis are meant for each other, but things are never easy with these two, especially with someone manipulating them both. A. Jade really put them through a lot in this book, and I think there’s even more drama coming in the final one, especially with a shocking cliffhanger again.

I have to say, Josh made me dislike him even more in this book, especially with how he treated Skylar. And what he did to her at the end? Don’t even get me started. I don’t feel sorry for him at all, only for the people he hurt.

Memphis still has my heart, and I get why he acted the way he did at the end. He doesn’t deserve more heartbreak. He’s already lost important people in his life and can’t take any more pain. I just want him to be happy now. He’s such a sweetheart, even if he’s pretty harsh to Skylar in this book.

Skylar really frustrated me with how indecisive she was in this book, but I get it; she was being blackmailed and felt she owed Josh for what he did in the first book. Still, I can’t get over her picking Josh over Memphis, especially in this book. She had so many chances to be with Memphis, and he treated her so much better. I just wanted to jump into the story and talk some sense into her because she was about to lose the best thing that ever happened to her.

Get ready for another spicy read, too, because Memphis definitely knows what he’s doing. Unlike Josh, who clearly doesn’t. If you can’t tell, I’m not a big fan of Josh.

I really loved Storm and Phoenix in this book. I hope Storm gets his own story because I’d love to see who he ends up with. He’s known as the teddy bear in the band, but boy is he more. If you haven’t read The Words, which is Phoenix’s book, I highly recommend it. He’s one of my favorite characters in the trilogy, and I always suggest his book to anyone who loves angsty rockstar romance. I may very well need to reread it because I loved his story so much, and it’s worth a reread.

Overall, I’m giving this book four stars. The only reason it’s not five is that Skylar’s choices really frustrated me. I hope she gets it together in the last book, or she might lose her chance with Memphis for good.

If this book is on your TBR, you should bump it up and read it soon. I honestly couldn’t put it down once I started. A. Jade reminded me again why she’s an auto-buy author for me.

A. Jade, I’m so happy you’re back, and I can’t wait to see what you have planned next for Skylar and Memphis. Just let me know if I’ll need tissues or a protective cover for my Kindle for The Closure! My poor Kindle was put through the wringer while reading this book.
