The spellbinding eleventh and penultimate installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling vampyre series
Drastically altered after her fall at the end of Hidden, Neferet is now more dangerous than ever—and her quest for vengeance will wreak havoc on humans, as well as Zoey and her friends. Chaos is loosed in Tulsa and the House of Night is blamed. Can Zoey stop Neferet in time to keep her anger from escalating to full-on war? Or will someone else have to step in to take the fall?
The House of Night series is an international phenomenon, reaching #1 on U.S., German, and UK bestseller lists, and remaining a fixture on The New York Times Children’s Series bestseller list for nearly 150 weeks and counting. With more than 12 million copies in print, rights sold in thirty–eight countries to date, and relatable, addictive characters, this series is unstoppable. Now, in the eleventh and penultimate installment of the series, the action is more intense and the stakes even higher as Zoey and her friends battle to protect their school and home from devastating evil—all while balancing romances, precarious friendships and the daily drama of the House of Night's halls.

I’ve been meaning to finish the House of Night series, and finally, this year (2024), I’ll be able to do so thanks to the Finishing the Series Reading Challenge. Revealed is the eleventh installment in the series, and once again, chaos has abrupted at the House of Night in Tulsa, thanks to Neferet wanting revenge. It’s up to Zoey and her friends to finally deal with Neferet but also deal with the humans and their authorities who blame House of Night for everything that is happening in their community, including the death of someone important.
Revealed dived deeper into Zoey Redbird’s journey as she navigates complex relationships, challenges with her powers, and the ongoing battle with Neferet and her dark forces. There was definite character growth with every character in this book, and the stakes are higher as they face Neferet differently. I sympathize with Zoey and her friends. They are a group of kids (fledglings and some red fledglings or already a High Priestess of their kind) who simply want to live their lives normally and peacefully. Unfortunately, they are unable to do so because of Neferet’s actions and the human authorities who unfairly blame the House of Night for everything that is happening in their community.
Fans of this series will experience a lot more emotional moments between the characters and action-packed scenes, mainly at the House of Night. They will also learn more about Neferet. I appreciated how the authors finally gave us a backstory on Neferet in this book. I’ve been wanting to know why Neferet became evil and why she craved so much power, and this book definitely delved into it.
I feel that if I had read this series when it was first released, especially the last few books, I would have enjoyed them more. Unfortunately, like the previous book, the storyline is dragging and becoming very predictable. I wish the series had ended earlier because, at this point, what Zoey and her friends are dealing with, especially in relation to Neferet, is becoming repetitive. There is also the issue that Zoey is not herself in this book and I’m worried for her character, especially with how things concluded in this book. Yes, there is a cliffhanger. Here’s hoping the authors redeem her character in the last book because she was not her usual self in Revealed, and it may have something to do with ‘old magic.’ She was even turning against Stark and I’ve always loved Stark. Don’t even get me started with the possible love triangle again; that involves Aurox. No more love triangles, please.
Overall, Revealed was an okay read for me, and I give it three stars. I’m looking forward to finishing this series and hoping that Zoey and her friends finally get answers and the happily ever after they deserve after dealing with so many challenges, drama, and death since book one.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s the eleventh book in the House of Night Series, and the series needs to be read in order.
Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. If you enjoy reading young adult series that combine fantasy, mythology, romance, and self-discovery for the characters, check out the House of Night series.
