four-stars

Creed. Addie. Pulled together and torn apart by those who want to use Creed as a weapon. Addie is hurt, tormented, eager to protect herself from Creed. But there is a bond between them unbreakable beyond anything known to mankind. Addie is about to find out just how strong that bond truly is, how impossible to break.

If you haven’t read He Is Creed Part One before Part Two, I highly recommend doing so. Lisa Renee Jones leaves readers with a cliffhanger in Part One. However, in Part Two, she fast-forwards two years into the future, revealing that Addie is now living in Germany after the betrayal she experienced from Creed and the near betrayal by her father. When her father asks for her help, Addie finds herself re-entering the world she tried to escape, potentially crossing paths with Creed, who broke her heart. Although she will always feel a connection to Creed, she cannot trust him or her father as long as he is allied with Julian, who seeks to take down her father. Addie is determined to do whatever it takes to protect humanity from Julian and the GTECH soldiers who have turned against humans like herself.

I enjoyed part two just as much as part one, but I found myself wanting more after Lisa Renee Jones left me with yet another cliffhanger. The pace of the book is fast, which I really appreciated, and it didn’t take long to finish it. I liked that the story is told from multiple points of view, including Julian’s perspective, who is the antagonist. He has become even worse since part one and is determined to take down Addie’s father and all of humanity. He’s willing to use anything necessary to achieve his goals, including manipulating Creed’s bond with Addie, which is quite deceptive.

I really empathize with Addie in this book because she can’t trust anyone and feels used by both sides. However, she’s become a stronger character, and I can’t wait to read part three after what happened to her in part two. I wasn’t very fond of Creed after his actions in part one toward Addie, but he’s starting to win me over again, especially as truths about his real intentions are revealed. I love how Lisa is portraying him as more of an alpha male; he’s very protective and possessive of Addie due to their bond. Nevertheless, Addie has every right to guard her heart with him.

Overall, this installment was great, and I give it four stars. I hope Addie and Creed find their happily ever after, especially after all they’ve been through together. I also hope they can take down Julian, as he’s nothing but trouble for everyone.
