The new, sexy Navy SEAL novel from New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh
THE FIGHT OF HIS LIFE
As the illegitimate son of Diego Fuentes, Ian Richards faces danger at every turn. Neither his father nor his fellow Navy SEALs knows which side he’s fighting for—or against. Which is exactly how the game must be played…until Agent Porter enters the picture.
STIRS HER DESIRE FOR LIVING
Kira Porter, undercover agent for the Department of Homeland Security, shadows Ian on his journey. She thinks she can see the real man beneath Ian’s bad-boy exterior…but the ever-elusive Ian keeps her guessing at every turn. Is his goal to protect the Fuentes cartel from French terrorists? Or to do his father in for good? The only thing Kira does know is that her attraction to Ian is a time-bomb waiting to explode. With time running out on the Fuentes mission, she and Ian are drawn ever close to the edge of desire—and even closer into the line of fire…
Killer Secrets is the fifth novel in Lora Leigh’s Tempting SEALs series. This novel has a high-stakes mission where a Navy SEAL, Ian Richards, has everyone fooled about what side he’s on. Is he on a mission to take down one of the Drug Cartel Lords, or is he working for the drug cartel now, especially since he’s the illegitimate son of the drug cartel lord, Diego Fuentes? The heroine, Kira Porter, knows that Ian is on his own mission, and she is told to shadow him for Homeland Security. Ian doesn’t want her anywhere near him and what he is doing with his father, but Kira is persistent. There is an undeniable attraction between Ian and Kira, which makes it even more difficult to focus on their tasks.
I enjoyed this book to a point, but was also disappointed. I didn’t connect with the characters as I did with other couples in the series. The frequent steamy scenes often took me out of the story. It wasn’t the number of scenes, but that they didn’t make sense because of the constant back and forth between the characters. Ian struggled with Kira being there while he worked with his father, which was understandable since he didn’t want her in danger. Yet every time he did something for his father, he ended up in bed with Kira and wanted her to leave, but she wouldn’t. This repeated between them. Kira knew Ian wasn’t turning against the Navy SEALs to work for his father, and she was on her own mission, but Ian wouldn’t accept it. I did love that Kira could hold her own in tough situations.
I was more focused on the storyline of what Ian was doing with the notorious drug cartel lord, Diego Fuentes, who was his father, which I found out from the previous book in the series. There was no way he turned on the Navy SEALs. I also wanted to know who the other antagonists were in the book, which are revealed. I definitely read some heart-pounding moments in this book that had both Ian and Kira in danger, as well as other characters. I loved how the other Navy SEALs that already had their books played a role in this book, too.
I wished I had liked this book more because it had potential, but the back and forth between Ian and Kira was too much for me. They already had an instant attraction since they had been together, but Ian saw it as forbidden because of what he was doing. It was frustrating. Overall, I give this book 3 stars. I plan to read the next book, which is another novella in the series. I’ll be glad to finally catch up on this series so I can check out Lora Leigh’s other books.
POV: Multi-POV (Third Person)
Would I recommend this book? I would still recommend this book to readers who enjoy high-stakes romantic suspense with action-packed scenes and a lot of steamy moments.

My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
