She was off limits, But he couldn't resist.
There are just some guys you don't touch--even someone as innocent and inexperienced as Ella Shaw knows that. But when her brother's best friend is up for grabs and willing, she can't resist. After all, she's wanted him for years...
On leave from the army, Tyler Dare is just looking for a little fun, but his best friend's sister is off limits. Yet unable to deny how sexy and alluring she is, he finds it all too easy to succumb to a night of passion and heat that ends the next morning in the worst way possible.
Now, Ella is stranded on a tropical island with a hurricane bearing down, and only Tyler can save her. It's his chance to make amends for the past and show the woman he's never forgotten that he's coming after her . . . in more ways than one.

Dare to Take is the sixth book in Carly Phillips’s Dare to Love series. Tyler Dare gets a second chance with Ella Shaw when she’s in danger, and only he can rescue her. The moment he gets there, though, he realizes she’s not only in danger with a hurricane about to hit the island she’s on, but someone is targeting her, and only Tyler can protect her.

I enjoyed this story of Tyler and Ella, especially since I already sensed their connection from the previous book. (No, you don’t have to read that book to enjoy this one, but as someone who has read the books in order, you’ll miss out on other Dares getting their HEAs, so I highly recommend reading in order.)

When it came to what was happening to Ella, I already knew who was behind it by hints in the storyline, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the romance that was happening between Tyler and Ella. Their connection, built on past feelings and undeniable chemistry, made their journey intriguing. These two were meant for each other from the start, and watching them come together again was the heart of the story.

One thing I really enjoyed in this story was how Tyler finally handled his father, especially since Tyler had known something about his father before his siblings for a while now, and it’s about time he confronted his father for what he did to his mother. If there was one person who didn’t deserve happiness was the Dares’ father. He truly was a horrible person and proved it once again in this book.

Overall, this was another enjoyable installment in the Dare to Love series, and I give it four stars. I look forward to reading the rest of Carly Phillips’s backlist I’ve missed out on, as well as her current releases. This is one author who knows how to write fast-paced, steamy romances, plus some unforgettable HEAs.

POV: Third Person (Dual POV)

Would I recommend this book? Yes, definitely. The Dare to Love series is a must-read; each book will make you fall for the Dare family and who they find happiness with.

I guess I should type a bio here. I'm FranJessca, or Fran for short. I'm the owner/reviewer behind A Book Lovin' Mama's Blog. I've been reading and reviewing books on my blog since leaving the Navy in 2011, and I will keep doing it as long as possible. My favorite genres will always be Romance & Fantasy, and I read every subgenre underneath those two genres. (Sorry, not a fan of nonfiction, so don't try to convince me to read it.)
My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
