Step into New York Times bestseller Nalini Singh's explosive and shockingly passionate Psy-Changeling world...
A dangerous, volatile rebel, hands stained bloodred.
A woman whose very existence has been erased.
A love story so dark, it may shatter the world itself.
A deadly price that must be paid.
The day of reckoning is here.
From "the alpha author of paranormal romance" (Booklist) comes the most highly anticipated novel of her career--one that blurs the line between madness and genius, between subjugation and liberation, between the living and the dead.
I regret not reading Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series sooner; every book, especially this one, is fantastic. Heart of Obsidian, the twelfth book, delivers action, drama, emotion, and heat. I couldn’t put it down, but that’s always the case with Nalini Singh’s books. Her writing, world-building, and character development are phenomenal, so I will always recommend her books to Paranormal Romance fans.
I’m so glad I avoided reviews before reading this book because when it was first released, Nalini kept the main characters a secret, and I didn’t want to be spoiled. Within the first few pages, I was genuinely surprised by who the book focused on and initially thought I wouldn’t enjoy it much. I should never doubt Nalini, though; she hooked me from the start. The story of the main characters, from their heartbreaking past to their emotional reunion, was gripping. I especially loved how protective the MMC was of the FMC and how the heroine, though sweet and soft, proved herself strong after everything she endured. I adored her just as much as the hero.
I don’t want to spoil this book for those who haven’t read it yet, so I’ll keep this review short. This book revealed a lot, especially toward the end, including the true identity of the Ghost, a mystery I was eager to have finally revealed.
I give this book five stars and wish I could give more. This book is definitely a favorite I definitely plan on rereading it again in the future. I can’t wait to read the next book after the ending of this book. I need to know what happens next. I trust Nalini and look forward to catching up on the series.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Psy-Changeling series and I highly recommend reading the books in order.
Would I recommend this book/series? Absolutely. If it’s written by Nalini Singh, I’ll always recommend her books to anyone who loves Paranormal Romance. She also writes Contemporary Romance and Thrillers, which I gladly recommend, too. She’s a mastermind of addictive storylines and characters, and she’ll always be one of my favorite authors.
