FBI agent Lilah Love leads a complicated life. She's engaged to Kane Mendez, a man most call dangerous, but hey birds of a feather, do flock together. She's dangerous, too, and in ways only Kane understands. As for their happily ever after, well that might have to wait. Right now, an old enemy who should be dead is still living, Junior, her mystery letter writer, is stirring up trouble, and her family is trying to prove they're crazier than her. On top of that she has a new case: a dead woman in a bloody wedding dress. And since Lilah knows all too well there is no such thing as coincidence, clearly someone is sending her yet another message.
Bloody Vows is the fifth book in the Lisa Renee Jones Lilah Love series. I’m more determined than ever to catch up on this series while juggling other books that I’m reading because I absolutely love the FMC, Lilah Love. She has quickly become one of my favorite heroines due to her spirited and kickbutt personality. Plus, she knows how to handle all the men around her, including those in her line of work. The men she works with definitely know not to mess with her, though.
I swear Lilah is never going to get a break with not only a killer on the loose, but her mystery letter writer known as Junior is back again, too. On top of that, she’s still grappling with the events from the previous book. Thankfully, she has Kane to protect her. This brings up what I love most about this series and that’s Lilah and Kane’s relationship. These two are a very loveable couple, and I love how Kane is determined to help Lilah and be there for her, even though some people may find their relationship a conflict due to Kane’s family and Lilah being an FBI agent. They are meant to be together, though.
Bloody Vows is another suspenseful book by Lisa Renee Jones that kept me on the edge of my seat. I give this book four stars and look forward to reading Bloody Love next, especially after Lisa left with a thrilling cliffhanger. If you haven’t started this series yet, you’re truly missing out, especially if you enjoy reading mysteries and thrillers.
Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Lilah Love series, and I highly recommend reading them in order, as the storylines continue in each book.
Would I recommend this book/series? Yes. I recommend this series to readers of mystery and thriller genres who also enjoy a kickbutt heroine.
