Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year. The tourists think it's all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
Willa Iscove, fae jeweler, has her first stalker. Really, he’s just one of her lovesick customers. The ring she crafted to help him find new love has backfired, making Willa the object of his affections. In a bid to rid herself of her amorous client, Willa makes a wish in the Nocturne Falls fountain using the piece of opal in her pocket and in doing so, unknowingly conscripts as her guardian the sexy gargoyle on duty.
Former Army Ranger and gargoyle Nick Hardwin has some serious suspicions about the pretty fae who just invoked the ancient pact for protection. Her kind have been at odds with his kind for ages. Now she wants his help? He’s determined to figure out what she’s up to. Which won’t be a hardship considering how much fun she is to be around. And kiss.
But then her stalker turns out to be the tip of the iceberg and things go really wrong, really fast. When they’re both kidnapped, Willa is forced to make a hard decision. The life of her family or the freedom of the man she’s fallen for?
This is my second time reading The Gargoyle Gets His Girl, and I still enjoyed it the second time.
Kristen Painter delivered another entertaining PNR packed with romance, humor, and adventure in the third Nocturne Falls book. If you like PNRs featuring a variety of supernatural creatures, you’ll enjoy this one because this time it involves gargoyles and fae. How many books out there have a hottie Gargoyle Hero? And believe me, Nick is VERY Hot!
In book three, we learn more about Nick, a gargoyle and former Army Ranger, as he adapts to his new role. While on duty, he meets Willa, a captivating Fae with a stalker she desperately wants to shake. Things only get worse when Nick becomes her protector after a wish gone awry.
There’s going to be a whirlwind of trouble for Nick and Willa due to the fact, they are two different creatures, and Nick should have an issue with Willa’s kind. Unfortunately, he can’t seem to let Willa go, especially after they are both kidnapped thanks to Willa’s past catching up with her.
Kristen builds the story well, especially the ending with Nick and Willa. I enjoyed how Willa handled the conclusion. However, Willa frustrated me at first, but she redeemed herself. I thought I’d need to jump in and knock sense into her. Nick seems tough, but is sweet inside, and I really liked him a lot.
I loved Willa’s cat, Jasper, who often stole the show. Even Nick was charmed by Jasper. He definitely will be one fictional cat I’ll never forget.
I give this book 4 stars and strongly recommend it to fans of paranormal romance. If you enjoy compelling supernatural relationships, exciting plot twists, and plenty of humor, this is a must-read.
I look forward to the next book; so many others in Nocturne Falls deserve happy endings. I’m going to keep saying it in my book reviews for this series. I wish Nocturne Falls were real; it would be my dream vacation spot.
POV: Third Person (Dual POV)

My obsession with reading started over 30+ years ago when I went to my first Scholastic Book Fair and found R.L. Stine's Fear Street series. Later, I came across Anne Rice's novels at my public library when I was fourteen when my obsession with vampires started. I was the girl who preferred to be a vampire over a princess any day. My husband says I would leave him a heartbeat for a vampire that looked like Spike or Angel (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) or Damon Salvatore from The Vampire Diaries. (It's true, though, and he's accepted it.)
